Tool Room Machinist

Now hiring for a Tool Room Machinist in Minneapolis, MN. Pay rate is $28.00 – $36.00 per hour. The schedule is 1st shift Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM or 2nd shift Monday-Friday, 3:30 PM-12:00 AM. Overtime may be required during the week and/or Saturdays.

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical school, machining certificate, or CNC programming education preferred.
• CNC / Machine Tool Technology (or equivalent) degree or certificate (Preferred)

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of CNC lathe machining experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to hold tolerances to.001.
• CNC programming and Wire EDM experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.

Job Duties:

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and tool room equipment.
• Manufacture, repair, and maintain tooling components.
• Read blueprints, routers, and work instructions.
• Perform precision measurements and quality inspections.
• Maintain tight tolerances and quality standards.
• Follow safety procedures and documented processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience with CNC mills, lathes, machining centers, or multi-axis equipment is preferred.
• Experience editing CNC programs, setting tooling offsets, and performing machine setups is beneficial.
• Familiarity with G-code, CAD/CAM software, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, or similar CNC controls is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, continuous learning, and commitment to precision manufacturing are well positioned for success as a Tool Room Machinist.

Physical Capabilities:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work around machining equipment throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift materials, tooling, and components weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity to safely operate CNC machinery and precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to work safely around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.
